WHT IS COACHING?

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a conversation with a purpose, coaching is a practice and “stance” that brings out the best in others. It is a dynamic and collaborative conversation between people that leads to improved performance, increased alignment, teamwork, and better bottom-line results.

Coaching is a kind of conversation that draws out the thoughts and perspectives of others, broadening their view of actions and options available to them. Coaching is not something you do to someone. It is not about giving advice, instructing or providing a solution. It’s also not about therapy or healing. Coaching is about commitment, action, ownership, and accountability and feedback. Effective coaching rests on a foundation created by the coach and the person being coached.

Building on that foundation and developing a successful relationship involves not only having good coaching skills, but also a shared mindset between coach and coachee about the coaching process itself. In today’s business world, where organizations need engagement and productivity and employees look for career growth, personal development and the ability to make a difference, coaching is a vital leadership capability. Coach-like leaders apply their skills in a variety of settings, from one-on-one development discussions, to team meetings, to conversations with bosses and/or colleagues.

What does it Cost?

The cost associated with accredited coaching is based upon your specific needs. For example, we offer programs and packages, or you may specify the duration and frequency of sessions over a pre-determined timeframe, along with focus, and we will be pleased to offer a quotation.

What is Expected of the Client?

Clients are expected to follow through on coaching appointments and commitments. While it is recognized that growth and change occur at different rates, there is an expectation that clients are interested in both personal and professional growth and in creating forward momentum. It is the responsibility of the client to take action following each coaching engagement. The coach also shares in a commitment to growth, therefore periodic feedback on what works and doesn’t work in sessions is always appreciated.

What does Coaching Look Like?

At Higher Ground, our coaching practice is aligned to the Standards of Conduct and Code of Ethics described by the International Coaches Federation (ICF). Accordingly, all content associated with coaching sessions is viewed as confidential.

Your coach will be committed to, and focused on the process, and more importantly, your goals, style, and needs.

Coaching sessions can be delivered by phone or in person, based on individual preference.

Qualified coach practitioners are available to meet your specific needs and style, and we offer both coaching and leadership development programs for you and your organization. The duration of our sessions can be 60-120 minutes for individual coaching through to multi-day programs for teams, where we employ a workshop approach which is reinforced by one-on-one coaching.

Our coaching services are focused on aspiring leaders, senior managers, and executives.
