Barb Francis BA, CEC, PCC
Executive Coach | Organizational Effectiveness Consultant

Barb is an experienced coach, facilitator and organizational consultant specializing in strategic leadership development initiatives. Drawing upon her 25 years of rich and diversified leadership and business experience, she works alongside leader in the co-creation of strategies for leadership development, learning and growth for high performance. She is an instructor in the Continuing Education Faculty at Mount Royal University, specializing in human resources and communication courses both in the classroom and on-line. 

As Canadian Director of Human Resources for an international manufacturing organization, Barb successfully led the Human Resources function to become a respected strategic business partner within the organization. She has also served as the President of local chapters of two international leadership and community service organizations as well as having served on their national boards.

For more than 15 years, Barb has worked with emerging, mid-level, and senior leaders and their teams, throughout Western Canada in the oil and gas industry, natural resources, manufacturing, transportation, land development and housing, government, advanced education, professional associations and the not-for-profit sectors. In the provincial government sector, she has coached CEO’s, Executive Directors and Senior Managers in a multitude of ministries and municipalities to further develop their leadership skills. 

She has earned her Certified Executive Coach credentials with Royal Roads University and is a Professional Certified Coach and active and credentialed member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) since 2004. She also holds a graduate management certificate in Human Resources from the University of Toronto as well as a BA from the University of Western Ontario.  Barb is certified in a variety of assessment tools including the Extended DISC, Birkman, Hogan Assessments (Hogan Personality Inventory, Hogan Development Survey and Motives, Values Preferences Inventory), Emotional Quotient Inventory Workplace, Influencing Styles Indicator, FIRO-B and the Management Research Group’s (MRG) and the Center for Creative Leadership’s (CCL) suite of leadership assessments and most recently, the Leadership Circle Profile (LCP). 

Barb’s unique approach of blending her genuine interest in her clients, a caring and compassionate manner together with her razor-sharp focus on goal setting and action is often what draws clients to work together with her.

Barb is a resident to Calgary, Alberta, and in her leisure time, can be found reading, gardening, travelling, or spending time with much-loved family and friends.
